Job purpose
Strategic planners are the foundation of any creative project and provide the team with information gleaned from studying markets for relevant data. The ability to think beyond a project is also important, as strategist planners must establish where any plan will take a client. Closely following a brief, accuracy ensures a strategist planner knows both the client and the target market, inside out.

At FCB a Strategic Planner is a catalyst for great ideas; person who can artfully participate on a team to find the smartest story that answers the assignment and is always reshaping the assignment, improving the output and working on the next thing.
Duties and responsibilities
• Studying clients’ businesses to getting to know their brands and understand their business objectives
• Pinpointing business problems; make recommendations based on business objectives and available data sources
• Keeping up-to-date with cultural/social trends and customers’ views and attitudes
• Analysing and interpreting a variety of information, commissioning external qualitative and quantitative research
• Producing cohesive and intelligent strategic plans to bring success to campaigns
• Work closely with account management and creative department, producing & collaborating on briefs to ensure campaign ideas and strategies are effective and targeted to the right audience
• Serving as a source for creative ideas on brand and consumer issues
• Looking out for new innovative ways to reach consumers
• Easily translates high-level creative thinking into actionable steps
• Evaluates campaign effectiveness; monitoring the success of the campaign as it runs, suggesting changes and improvements where necessary; analysing the results
