Agency Momentum Continues

Toronto, Canada, September 11, 2017 – On the heels of organic client growth and its BMW and Fountain Tire account wins, and after taking home a record number of awards at the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, FCB Canada today announces the appointment of several award-winning creative hires.

Elma Karabegovic joins the agency as Senior Art Director. Karabegovic is an acclaimed creative who honed her craft in the U.K., and chalked up accolades for work such as “Project Consent.” In her new role, she will enhance creative campaigns designed specifically for the agency’s dynamic and industry-leading clients. This serves as a homecoming for Karabegovic, who started her career as an intern at FCB and later served as an Art Director from 2008 until 2012, during which she was honored for her work with PFLAG.

In addition to Karabegovic, the award-winning duo Michael Morelli, Senior Art Director, and Marty Hoefkes, Senior Copy Writer, are joining FCB in Toronto as Group Creative Directors, after partnering for nearly a decade at Leo Burnett Toronto. The two have worked on a number of high-profile, internationally awarded work for brands such as TD Bank and Ikea. In their new roles, they will provide their leadership by continuing to build on the behavior-changing work in the agency.

Critically acclaimed feature filmmaker Scott Drucker has also joined FCB as Director of Photography, lending his film expertise to offer clients an exclusive, all-in-one production service, spanning directing, shooting and editing. Originally from Chicago, he now calls Toronto home and holds an MFA in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California. Drucker has created content for many networks, including Vice, Hulu, ESPN, VH1 and Crackle, and has had his work screened at more than 20 worldwide film festivals.

These recent hires are part of the momentum the agency is experiencing following its win of the BMW and Fountain Tire accounts. In July, luxury automaker BMW appointed FCB its lead creative agency in Canada. And previously, in May, Fountain Tire – a leading Canadian tire company that supplies a range of automotive services – selected FCB Toronto as its creative agency of record.

At this year’s Cannes Festival, the agency also took home 10 Lions for “Down Syndrome Answers,” and was named the most-awarded Canadian agency at the festival.

“We are proud of the momentum that the agency’s currently experiencing and look forward to creating more ‘Never Finished’ award-winning work for our great clients. Our new hires are evidence of what the future holds for FCB,” said Tyler Turnbull, CEO of FCB Canada.

FCB’s continued trajectory has led to over 10 hires in the last month, including: John Pace, Group Account Director; Blake Connolly, Account Director; Shane Holmes, Account Director; Dave Ashley, Account Director; Alex Pente, Account Supervisor; and Alex Kreinces, Account Executive. This creates a valuable foundation for the next stage of continued success for the agency.
